The 227th winner of the St Leger, held on Saturday 13th September 2003 over 1 mile 6 furlongs and 132 yards of Town Moor, was Brian Boru, a bay colt by Sadler's Wells out of Eva Luna, owned by Mrs Sue Magnier. A field of 12 runners contested the race which was worth £240,000. (Equivalent to £357,600 in 2017)
